Can tourists buy cannabis in Las Vegas?

Yes. Any adult aged 21 or older — including visitors from other states or other countries — may legally purchase cannabis from a licensed dispensary in Nevada. You do not need to be a Nevada resident.

You will be required to show a valid government-issued photo ID proving you are 21 or older. Acceptable identification includes a U.S. driver’s license, a passport, or a comparable government-issued ID from another country.

How much can you purchase and possess?

Under Nevada law, adults 21 and older may purchase and possess up to:

• 2.5 ounces (70.875 grams) of usable cannabis
• 1/4 ounce (7,087 mg THC) of concentrated cannabis

Edibles and other infused products are measured by their cannabis content as determined by Nevada regulations.

Where can you buy cannabis?

Cannabis may only be purchased from a licensed Nevada retailer (dispensary). Purchasing from unlicensed sellers is illegal.

• Private rentals — Some vacation rentals explicitly allow cannabis. Check the property’s policy before assuming.

Can you take cannabis through the airport?

No. TSA is a federal agency operating under federal jurisdiction, and cannabis is federally prohibited. You may not bring cannabis into Harry Reid International Airport or carry it on a flight, even if traveling to another legal state. Cannabis purchased in Nevada must be consumed or disposed of in Nevada.

What about driving?

Driving under the influence of cannabis is illegal in Nevada. The same DUI laws that apply to alcohol apply to cannabis. Do not drive after consuming cannabis.
