How to Find a Legal Cannabis Dispensary in NYC
Verify a New York OCM-licensed dispensary, understand the official decal and product checks, and browse all five NYC boroughs.

Use OCM’s official dispensary verification list, then match the exact storefront and address. Advertising cannabis or displaying cannabis imagery does not establish a retail license.

Check the official list first
OCM maintains the adult-use dispensary verification resource and adds stores as they open to the public. Use that resource directly rather than relying only on a search-engine listing. If you cannot match the address, resolve the discrepancy before purchasing.

Look for the verification tool
Licensed dispensaries must post the official Dispensary Verification Tool near the main entrance. OCM explains that scanning its QR code takes you to the agency’s list. Check the destination and the matching business; a sticker by itself should not replace verification.

Check products as well as premises
OCM advises looking for New York’s universal symbol on regulated products and a QR code or link to the Certificate of Analysis. These checks complement the store-license check. They do not promise that a product is suitable for a particular person.

NYC Health notes that unlicensed cannabis storefronts operate outside the regulated quality-control system.
