Retail license versus medical endorsement
LCB allows a retail licensee to add a medical endorsement. The underlying business is still a cannabis retailer. BudCities’ medical filter reflects the endorsement in regulatory data, not a claim that adult-use customers are excluded.

The consultant’s role
Medically endorsed stores must have a certified medical cannabis consultant on staff. Consultants help with registry entry and recognition cards. That requirement does not tell you when the consultant is available, so contact the store to arrange an appointment rather than arriving on the assumption of walk-in service.

Start with a health care practitioner
Washington DOH describes a qualifying patient as a Washington resident with a qualifying condition and a Medical Cannabis Authorization Form from a health care practitioner. The next step is an appointment at an endorsed store for registry and recognition-card assistance. This is separate from ordinary adult-use purchasing.

Use two different checks

Confirm that the store still provides medical services, what documents to bring, and whether a consultant appointment is needed. Ask about the products and services relevant to your needs. A directory badge cannot determine patient eligibility or which treatment is appropriate.
